updates and water requirements
Q[1
left]. What is the white
powder that sticks to the cup or bottle?
A. Alkaline-forming
minerals, including calcium, magnesium, sodium,
potassium, iron, and manganese. The white power will
appear after boiling alkaline water. It is safe to
consume.
Q[2
left]. What kind of water
should be used?
A. Only potable* water
should be used with the Living Water Essentials
unit. *Water that is safe for human consumption.
Q[3
left]. Do I have to unplug
the unit if I don't use it in one week?
A. Yes, please remove the
filter from the unit. Drain the water from the filter
and store it in a clean plastic bag, and unplug the
unit. When you need to use it again, install the
filter and let it run for 3 minutes before you
drink.
Q[4
left]. Why are there little
bubbles in the ionized water?
A. The water mixes with
air during the ionization process.
Q[5
left]. Why is it unsafe to
take medicine with ionized water?
A. The water makes the
medicine more absorbable in the body. A 50 mg tablet
could affect your body as if it were a 100 mg
tablet. Note: This answer does
not mean that all medications are doubled in
potency. This is just an illustration. All medicines
are different. That's why it is correct to take all
medications with standard water.
Q[6
left]. Can a baby drink
alkaline water?
A. No, a baby should
drink regular filtered water, or pH level 7.0.
Q[7
left]. Who should drink
ionized water?
A. Everyone except
infants, including young and old, and animals. The
alkaline effect will be beneficial to some degree to
nearly everyone and everything it comes in contact
with.
Q[8
left]. What
guidelines do we follow if someone has a
well?
A. Provided by the
company for C7, P3, and U7 (updated on 11/23/09)
1.
RESTRICTIONS: Living Water Essentials
units
cannot be used in conjunction with Reverse Osmosis
(R/O) water systems or water softener systems. If
these type systems exist in the application then a
direct water line is required bypassing these
systems.
2.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Identification of the water source – city
(municipal) or well water (well water requires a
water report).
3.
Consumer must provide water readings from their
water source:
[1] TDS
Reading, [2] pH, [3] Dynamic pressure of between 7
to 50 psi is required.
4.
CONDITIONS OF THE WATER SOURCE:
-
Check
TDS reading against rating
-
Check
pH reading against rating
-
Check
water pressure against range requirements
TDS:
50
–
80 low range for TDS
81 – 150 mid range for TDS
151 – 700 high range for TDS
700 plus requires other filtration (not supplied)
pH Ratings: Average pH range 6.5 – 8.5
Note: pH
below 6.5 or greater than 8.5 the water unit will
not operate within the stated levels
5.
EXAMPLES OF UNIT OPERATION:
C7 -
This unit is programmable based on the TDS reading.
-
TDS 50
–80 unit needs to be programmed to a high
setting
-
TDS 81
–150 unit is currently set to the mid range
setting
-
TDS 151
– 700 unit needs to be programmed to a low
setting
-
TDS
over 700 require additional filtration is
required other than the TR-1 or TR-2 options
WATER UNIT P3
-
non-programmable
WATER UNIT U7 - requires use of the TR-2 system and
filters
Requirements for all LWE water units (C7, P3 & U7)
-
For
drinking purposes the water flow rate is 2 – 2.5
lpm
-
For
clean & disinfecting Extremes* the water flow
rate is 1.0 lpm for c7 & p3 units and 1.2 lpm
for u7 water units
-
ORP
reading –200 to –450 is good drinking water
Note the
extremes come from the drain tube not the flex tube
* Extremes
-
For
high Acidic water use the highest pH setting on
the unit, adjust the water flow rate to 1.0 lpm
for c7 & p3 units and 1.2 lpm on u7 units then
collect the Acidic water from the drain tube
-
For
high Alkaline water use the lowest pH setting on
the unit, adjust the water flow rate to 1.0 lpm
on c7 & p3 units and 1.2 lpm on u7 units then
collect the Alkaline water from the drain tube

Other Questions and
Answers from Users
The questions have
numbers [1 right, 2 right, etc.] so you can send
someone to this section and tell them what answer to
look for.
Q[1 right]. I'm on a well and I'm
not getting any ionization!
A. Take your ionizer to a
home that uses municipal water. If it works normally
with municipal water, your well may have high
nitrates or some other problem. It is possible that
the machine is malfunctioning, but it makes sense to
try it with city water before (a) going to the
trouble of sending it back and (b) doing extensive
water testing.
Q[2
right]. I am
seeing little chunks of minerals in my water. What
is it and what should I do?
A. Try running the machine
on the 5.0 setting for 3 minutes every day, once per
day. More than likely, calcium has built up on the
plates. The daily acid flush will help keep the
scale from building up. This is not a bad idea even
for someone who has not seen any minerals in their
water. It may prolong the life of your unit.
Q[3
right]. I have a water
softener. What should I do?
A. You can permanently
take your softener off line or have a plumber send
water to your kitchen sink that bypasses the
softener. The ionization process needs the calcium
that is removed by softeners.
Q[4
right]. I have seen an
impressive vegetable cleaning demo. It would not
work with 10.0 water from my C7. What did I do
wrong?
A. You can order a
Super Charger Filter that will boost your
tap water as high as 11.4. Because the scale is
logarithmic, this is almost 90% more powerful than
10.5. No ordering information but we will add it to
this page when we find it.
Q[5
right]. What is a Remineralization Cartridge?
A. It adds minerals (to
low TDS water) to enable the ionization plates to
charge the water and create alkaline and acidic
waters.
Q[6
right]. Will the Remineralization Cartridge attach to all three
units?
A. For a U7 user whose
water does not have enough minerals, get both a
housing unit and a re-mineralization cartridge. The
U7 parts:
US71142
Re-mineralization Cartridge
A. For a C7 user whose
water doesn’t have enough minerals, get both the
housing unit (It sits on the counter beside the C7)
and a re-mineralization cartridge. The C7 parts:
US40878 Counter top
Single Filter (housing for Re-mineralization
Cartridge)
US71142
Re-mineralization Cartridge
A. For a P3 user whose
water doesn’t have enough minerals, get both the
housing unit that sits beside the P3 AND a
re-mineralization cartridge.
US40878 Counter top
Single Filter (housing for Re-mineralization
Cartridge)
US71142
Re-mineralization Cartridge
Q[7
right]. How do I install a Remineralization Cartridge?
A. Extra tubing comes
with the housing. The small feeder line goes from
the tap into the housing. Another line connects the
housing to the water unit. The tubing is cut to an
appropriate length to avoid loops of hose behind
your unit. If you cut your hoses, make sure that
they are cut flush (no angle).
Water flows from the faucet
through the re-mineralization cartridge; from there
into the unit's Internal Filter (carbon filter) and
then past the ionization plates.
Q[8
right]. How long will a cartridge
last?
A. The Standard Internal
Filter will last 3000 gallons. The citric acid
filter is a one-time use only. The re-mineralization
cartridge doesn’t have a specific time on it. It
depends on the water source and quality. If the
taste of your water changes, it’s time to change the
remineralization cartridge.
Q[9
right]. How much of my water
is alkaline and how much goes out as acidic?
A. For every 3 units
flowing into the Essentials Living Water, 1.8 comes
out as alkaline and 1.2 as acidic.
Q[10
right]. If I use a P3 only for
meetings, how do I store the cartridge if the time
in between uses is a couple of weeks?
A. Put the
cartridges/filters in a clean plastic bag in the
refrigerator to keep them fresh. When you take them
out of the fridge and put them back into your unit,
run the water for a couple of minutes. These steps
keep bacteria from growing in your
cartridges/filters.
Q[11
right]. What units can use the
Sodium Super Charger Filter?
A. Only the C7. The C7
goes up to a pH of 10. If you want to raise the pH
level as high as 11.5, you will need to use this
filter.
Q[12
right]. Can the C7 be
programmed to adapt to nonstandard water?
A. Yes. Print out and
follow these instructions:
